Police release images of man wanted over bogus delivery scam
Police are on the hunt for Mark Filiti.
It comes as they investigate a string of bogus deliveries that have resulted in the theft of almost $15,000 from small businesses.
Seventeen victims have come forward in the past two months saying they’ve been approached by a man claiming he has a delivery of goods but requires cash upfront before he can hand them over.
He pretends to be speaking on the phone with the owner or manager, after researching their name.
“He targets vulnerable victims, so young people working at gelati shops, or businesses where the managers aren’t there,” Detective Senior Constable Amanda Wright told Neil Mitchell.
