Police say man tried to grab gun from officer before it fired at Geelong
A police officer has escaped uninjured after their gun discharged in its holster during a scuffle with a man at Geelong.
Police said the man tried to grab the officer’s weapon while being arrested.
Police were called to a North Geelong business on Wednesday morning following reports of a dispute.
Officers attempted to use capsicum spray to subdue a man who had allegedly assaulted another man.
A scuffle then broke out between the man and a police officer, when the gun discharged.
Nobody was injured from the gun firing and the man was arrested at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
