Police are searching for a Doncaster woman following a hit-run in Melbourne’s south east, believed to be the result of a bitter love triangle.

The woman, 40, allegedly rammed the rear of a car on Bourke Road in Clarinda around 8.20pm on Tuesday.

Her former partner and his new girlfriend were believed to be inside the car.

Police say a 34-year-old woman got out of the car, when her alleged attacker mowed her down causing serious injuries.

Paramedics treated the woman for leg injuries. She was taken to the Alfred Hospital in a stable condition.

Before fleeing, the Doncaster woman also tried to run down the 54-year-old Clayton man but was unsuccessful.

No arrests have been made.
