It’s believed respect for police and other authority figures is on the decline, and now the stats prove it.

The latest overall crime stats show a 153% increase in situations where people are resisting arrest, and a 300% increase in police vehicles being rammed.

These stats come alongside a survey of police officers which showed almost half have been assaulted in the past year.

Secretary of the Police Association Ron Iddles told Neil Mitchell it shows ‘a total lack of respect’.
