Police step up hunt for Braeside’s servo pickaxe attacker

CCTV images have emerged of a violent carjacking in Braeside.

The victim had just paid for petrol at the Coles Express on Springvale Road about 3am on May 17 when she was attacked.

She was walking back to her white 2016 Mercedes Benz C200 sedan when a man confronted her with a pickaxe.

Images released today (pictured above) show the heavy-set man locked in a tussle with the woman.

The woman suffered minor injuries as the man managed to grab her car keys and fled in the car.

Police have also released a computer-generated image of the suspect and are calling on anyone who has seen the woman’s car — registration AKL-202 — to come forward.
