Police swarm on Upper Ferntree Gully shopping centre

A police operation is underway at the Upper Ferntree Gully Shopping Centre.

A caller to 3AW Drive claims officers have detained a man carrying a firearm.

“He’s been arrested – he was swearing and all that,” John told Tom Elliott.

“They’ve got it under control.”

Police later confirmed they’d arrested a man following an investigation into an armed robbery at a store in Boronia on August 4.

Nobody was injured during the arrest and the man will now be interviewed by police.
