Police union boss details excitement at new taser rollout

All frontline police officers in Victoria will be armed with tasers by September 2026.

Specialist police, who were first given tasers in 2004 and police in regional Victoria who first started getting them in 2010, will also be given the updated model.

Police Association Secretary Wayne Gatt told 3AW Breakfast the rollout to general duties police is well overdue.
