Police warn cannabis picnic goers they will be there and watching

Pot smokers planning to attend a cannabis community picnic next week are on notice.

Victoria Police will be patrolling the picnic at Flagstaff Gardens on January 15.

Free Cannabis Community founder Matt Riley spoke with 3AW’s Tony Jones.

‘It’s basically an opportunity for the community to come together and make new friends.’ 

Matt tells 3AW Mornings, ‘We’re not actually promoting cannabis, there’s no cannabis advocacy going on, we’re simply saying that cannabis users do exist in society.’ 

He says if the police plan to arrest anyone for smoking the drug they will most likely cancel the event.

‘We’re just asking for acceptance in society,’ he tells Tony Jones.
