A poll conducted on Victorian lockdowns has found more than half of the state’s residents thought they were too long.

Freshwater strategy canvassed the opinions of 1000 Victorians, with 59 per cent saying they were too long and too restrictive.

Eight per cent said they weren’t long enough.

Director of Freshwater Strategy, Dr Michael Turner, told Tom Elliott it’s a major change from opinions during the heigh of lockdown in 2020.

“It is a sea change of public opinion at the time,” he said on 3AW Drive.

“In 2020 we had 70 per cent plus supporting key restrictions, and in 2021 it was 60 per cent of people saying the Andrews government had done a good job.

“Now it’s slipping, and there’s a very good reason why that’s the case and that’s because public opinions are not static it changes over time.”
