Poo spill causes Monash Freeway mayhem

A faeces spill has caused morning peak hour mayhem on the Monash Freeway.

The animal manure has spilt on the road inbound near Stephensons Road.

The spill forced the closure of the two middle lanes are closed and Chris Miller from the Department of Transport said it was a nasty clean up job.

“We’ve got four or five of our crew literally with shovels scraping it off the road,” he told Neil Mitchell.

It caused significant delays and motorists were advised to avoid the Monash Freeway city-bound.

The spill has now been cleaned up.
