‘Poor oversight’: Fears multiple parks in Melbourne’s west have been contaminated with asbestos
There are fears multiple parks and playgrounds in Melbourne’s west have been contaminated with asbestos with councils told to strengthen quality checks for mulch.
Peter Tighe from the Asbestos Safety and Eradication Agency said “it’s poor oversight and poor processes that are led in fact in my view to the contamination problem”.
And Jimmy Bartel fears up to 20 parks could be contaminated.
