Popular camping site overhauls booking system to phase out ‘generational campers’

A decision to overhaul the booking system for a handful of popular camping sites on the Mornington Peninsula has split opinion.

The plan is to phase out “generational camping” by banning the re-booking of specific sites.

It’s claimed the new ballot system will allow more people to experience Whitecliffs Foreshore Reserve.

“We are aiming for fairness across the board,” Max Patton, Foreshore Manager for Whitecliffs Foreshore Reserve, told Dee Dee on 3AW Afternoons.
