A staggering 450 litres of bootleg booze has allegedly been found at popular Melbourne theatre restaurant Witches in Britches.

The venue has been accused of brewing the counterfeit liquor and substituting major brands of vodka, bourbon and whisky.

A 55-year-old man linked to the venue has been charged by police.

Ross and John spoke with Stuart Gregor, president of the Australian Distillers Association, who said it ‘wasn’t that hard’ to make.

‘But it can kill you,’ he warned.
