Port Phillip Council considering crackdown on Airbnb following numerous complaints
Port Phillip Council is considering enforcing tighter controls on Airbnb and short-stay accommodation following numerous complaints by residents in areas such as St Kilda, Elwood and Port Melbourne.
Managing Director of the Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute, Dr Michael Fotheringham, detailed the negative impact Airbnb can have on a community and explained why the short-stay accommodation has been banned in some countries.
