Mayor of the City of Port Philip, Heather Cunsolo, has refused to voice her personal opinion on whether she wants the Captain Cook monument reinstated in St Kilda after it was vandalised recently.

It comes as a motion is set to be presented before the City of Port Phillip tonight on whether to replace the monument.

“So a councillor can have an opinion, but a mayor cannot?” Tom Elliott asked, to which councillor Cunsolo responded “correct”.
