The Premier has come out swinging over the 2013 crash involving his wife and a teenage cyclist.

Daniel Andrews says he’s “completely comfortable” with police releasing any and all information surrounding the incident he’ll “never forget.”

He took offence at suggestions he’d interfered with police and said he wish he’d been driving at the time if it meant sparing his wife some of the “shameful” things being said.

Catherine Andrews wasn’t breath tested after the collision, an error police chief Graham Ashton said occurred due to a mix-up.

The Premier was categoric in his defence – assuring the public he and his wife hadn’t drunk anything – let alone alcohol – on the day or night before the incident.

“I think he’s done a sensible thing here by coming out and addressing this,” Neil Mitchell said.
