Premier’s confronting flood message to Victorians

Daniel Andrews has warned the flooding crisis is far from over and the number of homes inundated by floodwaters will “definitely” grow.

The Premier says it’s understood “about 500 homes” have been inundated by floodwaters, and at least another 500 have been isolated by floodwaters.

“That number will definitely grow,” he said.

“We won’t see peak levels of floodwater for quite a while. Of course, there is then the other issue of rain events that are forecast in coming weeks.

“This is with us for a while yet.”
