Preston woman fighting for life after contracting swine flu in China

Tom Elliott

A Preston woman is fighting for life in hospital in China after she contracted swine flu.

Kerri Cosma, 58, was visiting her daughter and grandchildren over Easter when she was struck down by the illness.

Her daughter, Emma Madigan, told Neil Mitchell it’s a miracle she didn’t die.

‘Yesterday was the biggest improvement we’ve seen, but there’s a long way to go,’ she said.

The family is speaking out in the hope of encouraging others to get their full vaccinations before going overseas.

They don’t want anyone else suffering like Kerri has.
