‘Pretty disgusting’: Large machetes found at Laverton Market

As the Allan Government are looking to outlaw machetes in Victoria, large machetes have been found being sold at the Laverton Market.

3AW Caller Shelly “froze” when she saw the machetes at the Laverton Market, and said they were the “size of her arm.”

“I’ve got family members who live in Melton and Werribee and they can’t even go and get fish and chips without being chased by people with these knives,” Shelley said on 3AW Drive.

Opposition Leader Brad Battin joined 3AW Drive and had his say on the machetes being sold at the Laverton market.

“People are genuinely afraid walking around the streets,” Battin said on 3AW Drive.
