Prison fire turns into ultimate ‘man bites dog’ story
Police say a fire at the maximum security Port Phillip Prison this morning was not suspicious.
The fire started in a computer server room at the Truganina facility about 1.30am.
Inmates were put into lockdown, but authorities say the fire was a long way from the cells.
Firefighters have had to break into the area to attack the fire.
