The head of the Australian Monarchist League, Philip Benwell, has criticised Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese for not promoting the King’s coronation ahead of Saturday.

Mr Benwell told Ross and Russel that he hopes Anthony Albanese doesn’t let Australians down by proceeding down a republican pathway and criticised Albanese for his lack of movement regarding the coronation.

“He has blocked Australians from joining together to celebrate the coronation. He has not done anything to promote the coronation around the country,”  he said.

Mr Benwell also criticised Albanese for his decision to not put King Charles on the five dollar note. “That’s not nice to us,” he said.
