A man who claims he’s been denied a travel permit to carry out bushfire preparation on his regional property says it makes no sense, given he got the permit last year.

Alan told Neil Mitchell Bass Coast Shire denied his travel permit.

He has a property on Phillip Island.

“We have a holiday house down there, which we use for our own means,” Alan explained.

“But we have it locked up.

“I can’t get a contractor into the backyard.

“I can get the front mowed, but not the back mowed

“With all the rain down there it becomes a fire hazard.

“But if the council issues a fire zone thing, we can go down to our property.

“It doesn’t make sense.”
