Traffic and trams are at a standstill in the CBD due to a protest against what is believed to be inconsistencies in the justice system.

A 56-year-old man was charged with dangerous driving causing death after his Ute struck 14-year-old Elijah Doughty in Western Australia.

The protesters are marching from Spring Street towards Swanston Street.

Speaking on Drive, channel 7 reporter Emily Angwin says the protest could last for hours.

“It is possible that they could be planning a sit-in,” Emily Angwin said.
