Protesters cause major CBD traffic

Climate activists are on the move after blocking a city intersection for about 20 minutes this morning.

Extinction Rebellion activists converged on the intersection of Latrobe and Queen Street shortly after 8am but have since moved on.

The group says today is the first of three days of disruptions as part of Occupy for Climate with Nine News reporter Adam Hegarty giving the latest on the situation.

Spokesperson for the protest, Brett Homewood, spent the morning marching in the CBD, and set up camp at the Parliament Gardens.
