Dr Michael Carr-Gregg has taken aim at celebrities, Channel Ten and a 3AW presenter for their responses to Bernard Tomic quitting a reality TV show.

Tomic said he was “depressed” on ‘I’m a Celebrity, get me out of here’ and became the first contestant to quit the show yesterday.

Dr Carr-Gregg said it is time to back off Bernie.

“The boy is 25 years old, he’s admitted on national television that he’s depressed,” he said.

“The response has been disgraceful.”

Dr Carr-Gregg said the responses from Dane Swan, Channel Ten, show hosts Julia Morris and Dr Chris Brown, and 3AW’s Shane McInnes were not appropriate.

But Neil said Tomic does come across as a “twit” most of the time.

“Is he a boy or is he a 25-year-old man who’s been wandering the world making millions and rubbing our noses in it?” Neil asked.

“He’s immature,” Dr Carr-Gregg replied.

“I do think he needs sympathy, he needs help not ridicule.”
