Passengers on the Frankston line are being warned to add at least another 30 minutes to their trip, as a 37-day blitz gets underway to remove three level crossings.
From 9 o’clock tonight crews will be working day and night to remove the crossings at Centre, McKinnon and North roads.
The works will have an impact on those attending the Collingwood-Fremantle game at the MCG from along the Frankston line, passengers will have to get off at Caulfield and transfer to a bus.
Jerome Wymar, Public Transport Victoria Chief says there will be be plenty of options.
’70 additional dedicated buses will be running between Moorabbin and Caulfield, as well as non-stop express services straight from Moorabbin to Caulfield,’ he said.
‘We’ll also be running local bus services to drop people off at ormond, bentleigh and mckinnon stations.’
