Public transport mask crackdown sees more than 100 people fined in Victoria, as NSW scraps mandate
More than 100 fines have been issued as part of a mask compliance crackdown on public transport in Victoria over the past few weeks.
NSW announced on Monday it would be scrapping its mandate for masks on public transport this week.
“It’s more important to get people to wear masks, than it is to give them fines,” Alan Fedda, Acting Chief of Metro Transport, told 3AW Drive on Monday.
Mr Fedda joined 3AW to discuss the Victorian government pledging more than $5 million to remove graffiti from freeways around Melbourne.
