Push to change New Zealand’s official name gains serious momentum

A petition signed by 70,000 people has given a big boost to the bid to change New Zealand’s official name to Aotearoa.

The Maori name is increasingly being used in conjunction with the official title.

It led Tom Elliott to question whether a similar push would ever begin in Australia.
