‘Putrid’ stench coming from what’s left of Footscray’s Little Saigon Shopping Centre
As the temperature soars – so too does the stench coming from what’s left of the Little Saigon Shopping Centre.
The Footscray building was gutted by fire just a couple of weeks before Christmas.
But more than a month on, authorities still haven’t been able to get in there to clear the site.
And the stench is getting more putrid by the day.
Andrew Pickard from the Salvation Army manages the Salvo’s Foley House across the road and told 3AW News he’d advised all 45 resident not to open the windows.
‘It’s putrid,’ he said.
‘It’s really bad.’
