Qantas announces new chief executive to replace Alan Joyce

Qantas chief executive Alan Joyce will step down in November and his replacement has just been named.

The airline has announced chief financial officer Vanessa Hudson will take on the chief executive role.

Chairman Richard Goyder said Ms Hudson had “a deep understanding of the business”.
