Qantas backflips on meal ‘simplification’ after backlash

Qantas has backflipped on a decision to remove vegetarian meals and snacks on domestic flights lasting 3.5 hours or less.
It comes after the airline “simplified” its meal offerings at the start of the pandemic and began to offer only one snack option on shorter domestic flights.
The issue came to a head after managing director of DoSomething Foundation, Jon Dee, took to Twitter to air his displeasure over the lack of vegetarian options on domestic flights.
“We’ve heard the message loud and clear about having vegetarian offerings on all of our flights and so we’re making that change as a priority,” Qantas Executive Manager of Product and Service, Phil Capps, said.
Speaking to 3AW’s Tony Jones, filling in for Neil Mitchell, on Friday, Mr Dee said it’s “great to see Qantas finally actually changed their minds”.
