Qantas CEO optimistic despite $1.28 billion half-yearly loss
Qantas yesterday reported a half-yearly loss of $1.28 billion before tax.
CEO Alan Joyce said the loss, fuelled by lockdowns, was “frustrating” but not unexpected.
Speaking today on 3AW Breakfast, Mr Joyce was optimistic about what the future holds for the airline.
He said business is “really improving”.
“The last half, where we reported that big loss, we only had 18 per cent of our operation flying, essentially,” Mr Joyce said.
“We’re now over 60 per cent of our domestic operation, 25 per cent of our international.”
