Qantas flight attendants threaten Christmas strike action
Qantas domestic flight attendants have voted in favour of strike action over Christmas, which could spark travel chaos during the holiday period.
The strike vote comes as flight attendants demand a pay rise and better working conditions.
The Flight Attendants Association says a two-year COVID-19 pay freeze has disadvantaged workers and needs to be fixed.
Qantas has slammed the decision, saying it’s a “very disappointing step”, and negotiations for a new agreement are underway.
The union has not made an announcement on the proposed date of industrial action.
