Quarters says the NRL has missed a “golden” opportunity, blasts “resentment” towards Melbourne
Stephen Quartermain says the NRL has missed a “golden” opportunity to promote their game in Melbourne, blasting the “resentment” held towards the Melbourne Storm.
The Storm have again been fixtured to play a Friday night final, with Collingwood and Richmond doing battle in the AFL across the road at the same time.
“What another lost opportunity,” Quarters said on 3AW Breakfast.
He says the match should have been played on Saturday.
“I’m starting to get really sick of how up north, in Queensland and NSW, they resent the Storm,” Quarters said.
“The commentators resent the Storm.
“It’s such a xenophobic attitude.
“You wonder why they even let Melbourne Storm in to the competition in the first place?
“They’re the shining light of the NRL.”
