Quarters trolled by Indian fans after celebrating Tim Paine’s sledge at Virat Kohli

New captain Tim Paine won the hearts of Australian cricket fans yesterday with cheeky sledge while wicketkeeping during India’s run chase yesterday.
“I know he’s your captain, but you can’t seriously like him as a bloke?” Paine asked Indian batsmen of their captain, Virat Kohli.
One of the most cutting sledges you’ll ever hear in sport. 👊🏻 pic.twitter.com/CxNRYz1ZlL

Like many cricket fans, Stephen Quartermain thought it was pretty good stuff.
“What a sledge,” tweeted Quarters, co-hosting 3AW Breakfast while Ross and John take a break.
That prompted a big reaction.
And Quarters liked it!
“Indians are very good trollers,” he said.
“And hey don’t like it when Virat Kohli is criticised!”
You call sledging good work? Then again, when you support a side that uses sandpaper for nefarious gains, the you have set the bar low for yourself. Tsk, tsk, tsk

Below are Quartermain’s two favourite.
- “Your tweet confirms the Down Under men are truly descendants of convicts.”
- “You call sledging good work. But then again when you support a side that uses sand paper for nefarious gains you have set the bar very low for yourself. Tsk tsk tsk.”
“So polite!” Quarters’ co-host Kate Stevenson said.
