The Queen has tested positive for COVID-19.

Buckingham Palace says the 95-year-old is experiencing “mild cold-like symptoms” but expects to continue “light duties” at Windsor over the coming week.

“She will continue to receive medical attention and will follow all the appropriate guidelines,” the palace said in a statement.

The Queen’s positive result comes just days after she resumed greeting guests in person.

Her son Charles and his wife Camilla also had the virus this month, along with a number of other people at Windsor Castle.

Her Majesty has been largely confined to Windsor Castle since last October.

She has received at least one vaccine dose.

“We assume she has had others as well, she has spoken up in support of vaccinations,” UK correspondent Gavin Grey told Ross and Russel.
