Queen Victoria Market traders are facing a rent hike, and will also be charged for electricity and water for the first time.

The Rumour File was tipped off to the increases on Tuesday, and they were confirmed by lord mayor Sally Capp on Wednesday.
Councillor Capp confirms rents will increase by four per cent in 16 months, and traders will be charged for electricity and water for the first time.
She says it’s still the cheapest rent in Melbourne and there is hardship support available.
