Queensland decision to lower age to legally change gender gains support from expert
Associate professor at the school of social and political sciences at the University of Melbourne, Dr Lauren Rosewarne, says she supports a Queensland decision to lower the age a child can legally change their gender.
“The research … supports that having control over your gender identity works in the mental health of a young person,” she told Tom Elliott.
Dr Rosewarne says children should not make the decision on their own – they should seek the advice of doctors.
