Queensland Senator quits cabinet as citizenship is investigated

Queensland Senator Matt Canavan has resigned from cabinet due to doubts over his citizenship.

The Turnbull Government minister has stood aside while the matter is being investigated.

They’re trying to determine whether he is a dual citizen.

Senator Canavan is of Italian heritage.

The news comes after Greens Senators Larissa Waters and Scott Ludlam resigned because it was revealed they were dual citizens.
