Quick-thinking bystanders foil would-be armed robbery in Boronia
A Boronia store owner has told how he helped other bystanders catch a would-be robber, with a shopping trolley.
Puru Siva, who owns the shop next door to the one which was targeted, told Neil Mitchell he pinned the man down using the trolley.
“At 7pm I was ready to close my shop,” he said.
“Two other guys were holding on (the man).
“We took the trolley and put it on top of him.
“He said, ‘I am very sorry please I want to go’.
“It was my idea, (to use the trolley) but I didn’t think, I just react.”
