A Melton milk bar is under fire over a racist sign ‘banning’ black teenagers from entering the shop.

3AW was sent a picture of the sign, plastered on the window of the store on Burleigh Road.

It said ‘blacks aged 14-18 and dogs’ weren’t allowed inside the store, because the ‘blacks always steal things.’

Local resident Cam told 3AW he couldn’t believe what he’d seen.

‘I don’t think anyone in the Melton community would fancy this,’ he said.

Victoria Police have since said they ‘do not support the language of the poster and deems the message as inappropriate.’

It’s understood the store has been the target of thieves on several occasions recently.

The sign has since been taken down.
