‘Let’s start holding people accountable’: Passenger tells why he stood up against racist rant

Two young women have been caught on video telling an Asian man to “f*** off back to your own country” and “go cook some more f***ing cats”.

“Make sure it’s not my pet one,” a girl yells to the man.

Former ADF member Sean Fitzsimons stepped in and begun filming the exchange.

He told Tony Jones about the incident, which took place on a tram between Northcote to Docklands on Saturday night.

“I noticed these young girls were boxing bloke into one of those sections of four seats and getting stuck into him,” Sean said.

“I was shattered that he jumped off the tram at the first chance he got.

“That was one of the most surprising things, it was really busy and most people were just looking down at their phones or pretending it wasn’t happening.

“Let’s start holding people accountable for the way they conduct themselves.”
