RACV calls for law reform on driverless cars
The RACV has called for laws to be introduced before driverless cars officially hit the roads.
It comes after the New South Wales government announced it would draft legislation for autonomous vehicles within the next 18 months.
Ross and John spoke with Brian Negus, General Manager of Public Policy at RACV, he says we’ll have driverless cars on our road within a decade.
‘What we’ll see is a gradual introduction, mainly on freeways to start with, maybe one lane dedicated to autonomous vehicles.’
‘Currently the law says there’s got to be a driver behind the wheel, they have to be in control of the vehicle.’ Mr Negus told 3AW Breakfast.
