Ram raid overnight at shopping centre in Melbourne’s west

An ATM has been unsuccessfully targeted in a ram raid overnight at a shopping centre in Melbourne’s west.

It’s believed to be the second time in 12 months the Watervale Shopping Centre in Taylor’s Hill has been hit by would-be thieves.

Police confirmed they are investigating the incident, saying offenders tried to force their way into the Calder Park Drive complex and unsuccessfully attempted to gain entry to the ATM.

They were only notified of the incident after a cleaner discovered damage about 2.40am.

The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made.
