Rare giant coconut-cracking rat captured on camera for the first time!

A rare giant coconut-cracking rat has been captured on camera for the first time by Melbourne researchers.

The elusive rat was first identified in the Solomons as a species six years ago, but only now is there vision of the rodent.

University of Melbourne mammalogist Tyrone Lavery says its not your average city rat!
