‘Rather ferocious’ fire breaks out on Princes Freeway

A trailer has caught fire on the Princes Freeway at Altona North.

The blaze is in the emergency lane of the freeway, out-bound, just after Kororoit Creek Road.

Chris Miller from the Department of Transport says it’s a “rather ferocious fire” and smoke is billowing from the blaze.

Two lanes are close out-bound due to the blaze.

There are also delays building in-bound.

Emergency services are on site.
