FULL TIME: West Coast has returned to the grand final for the first time since 2006 with a 25-point win over North Melbourne.

The Eagles went goalless in the first quarter, but were clearly the better side from the moment Josh Kennedy kickstarted things with a superb goal after a breathtaking mark six minutes into the second quarter.

Xavier Ellis proved again to be a big-game player with 21 telling touches and five marks, while Kennedy worked hard both inside and beyond 50.

Evergreen veteran Brent Harvey led the way for North Melbourne with 26 touches.

HALF TIME: North Melbourne holds a somewhat unlikely five-point lead at the main break.

The Kangaroos went into the game considerable underdogs, but an energetic start saw them keep the Eagles goalless in the opening term.

Josh Kennedy is the game’s only multiple goal-kicker to half time.

North Melbourne’s dream run in the 2015 Finals faces its biggest test on Saturday evening.

The Kangaroos proved last year’s Preliminary Final appearance was no fluke, earning another one with a strong win over Sydney.
