Red Cross chief calls for safety checks ahead of summer

Today marks the beginning of Emergency Ready Week which is a Red Cross initiative.

“Now is a great time to refresh your plans and think about what worked in the past and what you might do differently in the future,” chief of staff at the Australian Red Cross Penny Harrison told Tony Jones, filling in for Neil Mitchell.

“People who go through that sort of planning are better able to respond in n event and also recover but recovery can take a long time,” Penny told Tony.
