Remains believed to be human found in bushland near Sorrento

Police have found human remains in bushland near Sorrento on the Mornington Peninsula.

It’s understood the search involving homicide squad detectives, the mounted branch, the operations response unit and the SES was part of an investigation into the mystery disappearance of Joanne Martell.

The 45-year-old mother was last seen at Rosebud in early 2015, but wasn’t reported missing until May last year.
