Renowned sports doctor’s reaction to incredible Olympic feat

Lindsey Vonn is expecting to compete at the upcoming Milano-Cortina Olympics with a torn ACL.

The 41-year-old is one of alpine skiing’s most recognisable names, launching an Olympic comeback having not competed at the highest level since the Pyeongchang Games in 2018.

Renowned sports doctor Peter Brukner told Jacqui Felgate that if Vonn was successful at the upcoming Olympics, it would represent one of sport’s greatest feats.

“She has two big things in her favour,” Dr Bruker said about the Olympic legend.

“She is so tough mentally….she may compete and get through. But at that (Olympic) level, you only have to be one per cent off, and you go from first to 50th.”
